ServeNow speaks with NCAPPS President regarding Conference
Posted August 26, 2012 in Meetings
On September 22, the North Carolina Association of Professional Process Servers (NCAPPS) will hold their first annual conference! The conference, which will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Durham, will run from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and will feature a guest speaker, door prizes, the election of the inaugural board, and plenty of opportunities for networking. To get more details, ServeNow.com spoke with Ruth Reynolds, president of the association.
“We’re excited about all of the interest in the new association and how many people have already joined up and all of the people that are going to participate,” she explained. “We’re going to have a pretty good turnout for our first conference.” Reynolds noted that vendors seem interested in what the association is putting together and that th event is already creating a lot of buzz. “There is a lot of excitement and everyone is aboard.”
Speaking at the conference will be NAPPS Past President John Perez, who spoke at the first NCAPPS meeting in September of 2010. “I’m sure he will discuss where we are and how far we’ve come from that first meeting, and especially how important the association is to everybody,” Reynolds said. Door prizes at the event will include office supplies and a Google Nexus Smartphone.
Reynolds also expressed excitement for the election of the first board. “Right now it’s an interim board where we’re all volunteering. I was appointed and then appointed the others, but all of us have been working together–the whole founding membership–to keep things moving in a big, positive direction and to get us to our current point,” she shared. Beyond the election of the new board, Reynolds also hopes to see membership increase and more process servers getting involved. “Hopefully people will become more active and involved when they see that there is a larger group that cares about this association,” she said. “This will be a great opportunity to network with process servers across the state and get to know who they are, what they have to offer, and share information. That’s a real tool to be able to share your experiences and knowledge and keep in touch.”
Reynolds invites all process servers to attend, whether they live in North Carolina or another state that has an association. “We invite you if you are in the area or if you want to take a trip out to North Carolina. Everyone is welcome as a guest,” she said.

With this conference marking a milestone for the association, Reynolds is excited about how far the association has come. “I’d also like to thank ServeNow for being so instrumental in helping us get to this stage with our membership. Without all of their wonderful guidance and website we wouldn’t be where we are today.”
